We are preparing our students for success and building lifelong critical thinkers.
We provide our students rigorous and challenging academic experiences that create explicit opportunities for them to develop critical analytical skills and the capacity to innovate. Our teachers are dedicated to ensuring that our students grow their intellectual confidence so that they may be prepared to take their place in the world. We have built a strong academic reputation as evidenced in our school exit examination results.
Students progress from content that is about self discovery and understanding their purpose, to progressively looking outward to where they can take their mastery of self leadership to external communities - this could be the school community, their city or the continent at large. The aim of the programme is to have a coherent and consistent place for students to be exposed to self and community leadership, as well as root students in the sense of African history to inform future innovation and action. This programme is consistent across Nova Pioneer regions and across all of our high schools.
We recognise the contribution of Physical Education and the Arts to the health and well-being of our students and believe that a varied co-curricular and extra-curricular opportunities have a positive influence on the concentration, attitude and academic achievement of all students. Thus, we offer a wide range of musical, arts and sports activities and the opportunity for students to participate competitively both locally and internationally in their chosen club or sport.
Challenging our students outside the classroom strengthens their teamwork, resilience and leadership skills. Our Novaneers build valuable skills and attitudes that become lessons for life through their extra-curricular activities.
Nova Pioneer's unique Hallmark Programme includes Post School Success programming for upper phase students.
In Post School Success, students have access to both timetabled classes and individual coaching. In the timetabled classes, students are exposed to planning for life after Nova Pioneer. In Year 10 and 11, this includes career guidance and exploration, understanding university access programming, learning about universities, etc. In Year 12 and 13, it focuses on individual planning to support students in their application and active planning for life after Nova Pioneer.
As a Pan - African school network, Nova Pioneer understands the impact of creating environments that are inclusive in every aspect of our students lives. Diversity must be celebrated and understood in order to garner respect, empathy and collaboration. It is for this reason that Nova Pioneer places importance on its foundational culture principles.
Our culture principles are cemented both inside and outside of the classroom, through collaboration on projects, sport and community engagement opportunities.
By exploring culture and integrating it as part of character development, our students take on daily challenges with a strong sense of purpose, service and innovation. Read more about our Culture Principles here.
